About Me

My name is Martha Napolitana. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional (CATP), and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) providing telehealth services for residents of Pennsylvania.

Perhaps more importantly, I have been where you are today.

Worried, frustrated, and feeling like things will never change. I felt powerless to help my child. My passion for working with children, adolescents, and their parents comes from my experience as the mother of a child who struggled with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, ADHD, and Obsessive-Compulsive disorder. I chose to pursue a master’s degree in Clinical Counseling because I wanted to assist kids, teen, and their parents to overcome their struggles and thrive.

The name Invictus means Unconquered – and I truly believe that no matter the diagnosis or issues a child or teen is battling, with assistance from the right therapist they can learn to overcome their struggles and become stronger and more resilient.

I became a therapist because I wanted to assist children and adolescents with mental health and behavioral struggles and their parents. I know that children and teens who have mental health and behavioral issues are amazing – that they are not their diagnoses, and do not have to be defined by those diagnoses.

When I started the journey with my own child, I never could have imagined that he would be where he is today: successful in college and with the ability to handle his anxiety and ADHD.

Having a child who has emotional and behavioral challenges affects the whole family, and I am committed to working with parents to repair their relationships with their child or teen which have become fractured and full of stress, anger, and frustration.

My Approach

My philosophy of therapy is client-centered and relational. I meet the child or teen on their level, focusing on their strengths. I use their strengths and interests as a springboard to teaching them skills and coping strategies to conquer their struggles. I use an eclectic and integrative approach which focuses on the client and the client’s individual needs.

I employ strategies and interventions from different therapeutic models and philosophies to ensure that my approach is focused on the needs and struggles of each individual client. Some of the approaches I draw from are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), emotion-focused therapy, solution focused therapy, play therapy, and many others. I am committed to empowering my clients and their parents and helping them to achieve their goals.
